Dining around

Seem to be gorging non-stop lately.  Here are some photos from only a few of the food-stops along my way of eating ridiculous amounts over the past few weeks.  Not sure why I feel compelled to take pics of my food...  Last night we had a multi-course feast before Aunt E. leaves town today. The resto owner was barking at us to take photos of the meal but I refrained.

It was a fun and busy week!  Caught up with a bunch of different friends over some of the food above... saw Pearl Jam at the ACC... actually hung out with my neighbours after living on two sides of the same wall for 9 years... finished a crafty side-project... and got lots of work done!  And now for the weekend.  Hope you have a good one!  There is so much going on in the city.  Hope to pack a whole lot in...

A weekend in June

Hope everyone enjoyed a nice weekend. I was only home for a couple waking hours over the past few days, so am a bit worn out. Went to the album release party for Friendlyness and the Human Rights, went to the Trinity Bellwoods Yard Sale, went to J.'s bridal shower, had dim sum with Family, and dined at A.'s house a few times! I am going to wear out my welcome at her place soon enough! I didn't take many photos this weekend, but here are two from the yard sale.

Look what Aunt L. found! This was the coolest salt and pepper set I have seen in a while! You turn the dial on the front of the TV and the shakers elevate for access to the S&P!
It was a cool day and these wool blankets were looking really cosy. Love the leather straps to tote them with.

I picked up some Pyrex and Fire-King items to add to my ever-expanding collection!

Holiday 2009 and Grandma's 96th Birthday

Hope everyone enjoyed a nice holiday. We spent Christmas Eve feasting at L. and J.'s in Burlington, Christmas day feasting at my parents' place and then the past two days feasting in restaurants while shopping like maniacs. Not as many deals to be had as other years, but I did manage to cover a lot of ground and pick up a couple things. My Mom got me this yummy Foley + Corrina City Tote on super sale at Specchio for a Christmas present. I can't seem to have enough handbags and shoes. Tomorrow I need to do a purge in the closet so I don't feel so bad!

I went nuts with raffia and kraft paper bags this year, but I did wrap a couple boxes in proper wrapping paper.

Here are a couple nice trees spotted around town. Above is a tree of lights in Cumberland Park in the heart of Yorkville and below is the shimmering Swarovski crystal tree at the Eaton Centre.

Today is our Grandmother's 96th birthday! Here I am with cute Gran just before the dinner celebration and before my camera battery gave out. I'll have to wait for everyone else's photos with more family. She's wearing a faux pearl and Swarovski crystal necklace that I made her. It goes with a matching ring and bracelet. It seems a lot of her jewels have gone missing at her retirement home, so she needed some new gems! The necklace looked lovely with her new sweater from Aunt I.!

Thanksgiving weekend

I had a really nice Thanksgiving weekend and I hope you did too!

On Saturday I enjoyed a nice evening in Oakville with the family at my Aunt I. and Uncle E.'s house. They always put out a huge and delicious feast. Aunt I. makes the best chicken wings ever! I am still savouring them! It was great to see my Dad's three sisters together. And it was probably my last chance to see Aunts G. and E. before they head off again.

(These fruits were merely the toppings for the scrumptious post-feast Belgian waffles. So good...)

Then on Sunday I hitched a ride with A. up to G. and A.'s Mom and Stepdad's house in Collingwood for a true Thanksgiving turkey bonanza complete with all the trimmings including two types of stuffing.

My Friend was still in my bag from weeks ago when the Sis returned him to me, so he had a gander at the Village at Blue Mountain. Really could not resist.

Then today we headed home again. It was a quick visit! We picked up some honey crisp apples along the way. I am addicted to them... but one cannot OD on apples, right?
We also managed to track down the best tomatoes ever from this man that also sells the wood pictured above.

We drove through the scenic rolling hills of Airport Road as we headed back to the city to enjoy some good ol' Swiss Chalet dirty bird with G. and A.'s Dad and Stepmom. G. was also just back from Dublin, so it was a nice ending to a charming weekend full of good cheer, good company and thanks!

Oh yeah! I am convinced that my foot is half healed. I have been feeling better day by day and the road-rash on my knee seems to finally be improving. I have never needed so much sleep as I have of late, but perhaps this is because I am expending so much energy on the healing process.

I'm looking forward to a busy work week ahead and an appointment at the fracture clinic so I can find out what the heck is up with this foot!
