One of a Kind Show Online Shop Launch

This is a long overdue post but, it's timely with the One of a Kind Show coming up in just weeks!  A few months back, I had the honour of taking part in the launch event for the One of a Kind Online Shop!  Now you can find many of your show favourites all year round at the Online Shop.

The event was lovely.  It was at L'Ouvrier which is a very pleasant light-filled restaurant on Dundas near Bathurst.  The participating exhibitors each had a station where we did our thing creating work.  Got a chance to mill about, sample tasty snacks and chat with bloggers and press.  Samples of product to be sold online were showcased throughout the restaurant.  I definitely spotted some goods to add to my wish list!

Really enjoyed the evening and I think the website was very well received!

Check it out at http://oneofakindonlineshop.com/!

On a side note, we got our booth number for the November show!  We'll be in BOOTH Y-09!  Come see us!

Pass the wrench

I just love these Handy Necklaces!  Trying hard not to keep one of each for myself!  Hung from a gorgeous brass chain are wee little replica tools.  There are 5 different tools to choose from!  In addition to this Wrench, pick from a Hackett Wrench, Pliers, Scissors and a Screwdriver.  For more details have a look at them in the Shop!

Pass the syrup...

Ok.  Is this not the most awesome bedding you have ever seen?  I cannot even get over how real those blueberries look!?  I've been staring at this for 10 mins.  Imagine crawling into a giant waffle to sleep every night?  This was part of the BFA thesis show of Brook of B Fiber and Craft Emporium.  You should see the Baked Potato bean bag chair.  It is too good.  If I had a bigger more minimal home, I'd get one of each!

Things I like...

Here's a group of recent things that I have favourited on Etsy.  Haven't done this in a while so thought it would be fun (and an excellent procrastination method) to go through my faves...  The common thread here is that each item is textile based and/or some stitching has been involved in the making...
Classic vintage style bicycle bag by snootsie
Somebody stole the saddle bag off my bike last fall.  The nerve of the thief to take the time to unbuckle the vintage gem in broad daylight in the middle of a busy street.  Grr.  Now This one would look swell on my bike.  Next saddle bag will be heavily zip-tied to the bike.

That's it for now!  Have a nice day!

Finding a Fall shoe

... or boot is always on my list!  I need something I can walk around endlessly in that is not a runner.  Not that I wear runners!?  Would be great if I could bike in them too, but I suppose I can always add a rubber sole!

Here's a little list of a few that I am contemplating
These are super cute and would go with anything, but may not be comfortable enough for tons of walking.  Might still buy 'em!  Love the metal combined with the tassel on the laces.
These would be so easy to slip on and go!  I even love the navy though they look almost black to me.  I think I am getting over my navy blue phobia.  It has only taken 16.5 years.
These look so odd but I somehow like them.  I'd switch out the laces for something less "running shoe" and wear them with dresses.  I know -- bit weird, but they look like pillows for your feet!
Think I may have blogged a similar pair before.  Shearling plus clog sounds ideal to me!
Some lovelies from Toronto shoe haven Chasse Gardée.  These with a pair of socks qualify as walking shoes, no?

A. and I tried these on the other day.  The leather is so buttery!  And they are comfortable!
These look much like the Lanvin boots my sis and I coveted last year, and as much as you don't want to support a knock off, these are much more affordable.
This pair is for you, Miss S.  These are some good-looking nude oxfords!  And they are on sale!

That's it for now!  And the search continues!

Want

This throw from the Missoni for Target collection is so fab!  Love the retro colour palette and the cozy texture and fuzziness of it.  I do enjoy the classic Missoni print. Plus I have way overexerted myself lately and all I can think of right now is curling up and going to sleep.  Plan on taking it easy in the  week ahead and catching up on rest.
Oh!  I'm pretty into this bike too!  Alas, both of these items are out of stock... of course.

Knobby

I adopted my sister's old dressers this week. They were pine (veneer, I'm sure) with rather unexciting matching round knobs. I gave the dressers 3 laborious coats of oil paint and have been waiting for them to dry for days. In the meantime, I have been on the search for new knobs. I've been unsuccessful in the city so far, but have found many options online. These are my top picks from Anthroplogie. (Maybe I'll pop in the store today.) I am debating whether to pick up some of the above pretties... or to paint the existing knobs to transform them to something more fun... or get a glimmer-y vintage feel with a group of these...

Dagg and Stacey contest!

My favourite outfitters and local design wonders Dagg and Stacey, have launched their online boutique. To celebrate, they are holding a contest to win a $250 gift card! Go here to find out more.

These are some of lovely images from their Spring/Summer 2011 look book.
I can feel the warmth of the hazy Summer sun in these images and can't wait to pick up some new Dagg and Stacey threads in preparation for this dreary weather to finally turn! My selections from season's past are still in strong rotation too!
To see more from their SS11 collection and more info, visit their website!
