Throws in colour

My friend KK enlisted me to help her and her husband to inject some colour into their recently renovated, and mostly white home. We decided to start with some throw cushions for their third floor den or secondary living space. We chose colours that reflected her Indian roots but didn't restrict ourselves when it came to selecting patterns.
I enjoyed making these comfy cushions and am pretty darned happy with how they turned out. Might have to make some new options for my own home. Really love the pom-pom trim! I splashed the pillows around my home to take these photos before handing them over to head to their real home. I hear they look great on their contemporary couch! Onto the next project! I have a big list of projects in my mind...
(I detest ironing -- don't mind the wrinkles!)

Have a great day! Where did May go? This long awaited drastically improved weather is so welcome, humidity and all! Makes it hard to concentrate on work though...

Some Jonathan Adler picks

Took some time to peruse the Jonathan Adler website. Here are some of my favouite items...
I like the Rabbit and the Owl the best.

You should see the back too!

This would be lovely on the Lampert Love Seat!

That's it for now! Happy Monday! It's f-f-freezing here in Toronto! Keep warm!

Crafting a LOVE-ly cushion for J + T

I made this pillow for J and T to celebrate their engagement. I found 2 pieces of wood grain fabric in my stash and stitched a little heart with their initials on one panel. In hindsight, I wish I had added an arrow, but it's still cute! I sewed the 2 pieces of fabric together, stuffed it, and closed the hole with a few hand stitches. Done!
I brought it to their engagement party the other night in stead of a card and I think they liked it a lot. It looks pretty sweet with the logs that J. and T. also have from iheartnorwegianwood.

Log pillows!

Here are my log pillows from iheartnorwegianwood. Not sure if they are still being made, but I love them! Wish I had a whole cabin's worth of them... or a log pile at the very least.

The other pillows are (from left to right on the sofa)
1. a graphic cushion printed and created by Heidi van Veen, 2. a fuzzy and shiny little goody made by me from a felted sweater (It was previously the most hideous beaded thing, but makes a really nice cushion) and 3. a large cushion that I crafted from two pieces of upholstery fabric picked up from the sale at the Textile Museum many years ago.

Update: I hear from Angie that she is still making the logs but under a different label. More info to come in the months ahead.
