A day in the city

Today I spent a lovely afternoon with a friend. We lunched, we chatted over coffee, then chatted over tea, popped into Sylvie and Shimmy and checked out some jewels on display, and went to see some art.

Last week I randomly went to an opening at Open Studio and was happily surprised to find that two of my art school profs were part of the show. After a quick catch up on what I am up to now, my former drawing professor lightheartedly reprimanded me for not seeing more art more often with so much at my fingertips. He was right! Feeling slightly less guilt after roaming the AGO and catching the Turner exhibit today. 

Nice to feel inspired by art. Now I must remember to make more art!

Made You Look

Made You Look is filled with so many amazing jewels!  They carry the work of numerous designers with a mostly Toronto area roster including MoonRox!  Here are some photos from our last couple visits!

Parkdale has come a long way since Made You Look first opened a decade ago.  They were one of the first shops on a strip that is now filled with so many retail wonders!  

Recently, the shop has added a little upgrade!  They set up a room for brides and the special people in her wedding party.  The room is filled with shiny goodness to make the whole bridal accessories experience more personal and fun.  They can also do some alterations to special pieces that you have inherited or help you work on custom ideas!

April has been busy and fun, but I'm hoping the weather will improve and that we'll have warmer days soon enough!  Can hardly believe it will be May tomorrow.  There are 11 Days left to get your hands on the eBay Mother's day Collective!  The auction for the special one of a kind necklace will begin on May 4th.  Pretty excited for the opportunity to raise some funds for Inspirations Studio.  I'll fill you in on details soon.  Think we will also introduce a little treat on our own site tomorrow.  Lots of goodness coming up!  Will keep you posted!

All stocked up at Frock

I got a chance to visit Frock on Roncesvalles to bring them a load of new jewels. 

The store was bustling and full of all your needs for Summer. Here is owner Cathryn's pick of the day - a spicy little swimsuit.

Sylvie and Shimmy

I'm so pleased that MoonRox is now being carried at brand new Toronto store Sylvie and Shimmy.  The cheery little Parkdale spot is filled with well-priced feminine wares from both local designers and Korean lines.  They carry a lovely mix of clothing, footwear, art prints, gift ware and of course lots of MoonRox Jewellery & Accessories!  So happy for owners Caroline and Shim to see their vision come together so beautifully.  Congrats to the ladies on the hard work and beautiful shop!  Check 'em out!

A visit at Bookhou

Before Christmas, my Sister and I dropped in at Bookhou to pick up some gifts.  So inspiring to see Arounna (above) and John and their cute family in action in the store.  Loved seeing the productive and calm studio and all the little bits of work, art and collectibles pinned up on the walls.  My eyes were darting everywhere to soak it all in.
