Plant One on Me Necklace and Earrings

I'm a lover of plants and flowers. My camera roll is always full of photos of my nephews and then of plants and blossoms! I wanted to make some pieces that were leafy and fun yet could be worn in a very classy way. I mixed brass monstera leaves with semi-precious stones or little pearls for the Plant One on Me Necklace and Plant One on Me Earrings. Clockwise from the top, choose from pearl, sapphire, amethyst and green onyx.

Sherrill and Filip's Wedding

With June upon us, we are in the height of wedding season! 

I've had the pleasure of working with some pretty stellar people lately!

Congrats to lovely newlyweds Sherrill and Filip on gettin' hitched! Sherrill had me when she mentioned Solange in discussing the jewellery and accessories for her destination wedding. I got a sense of her style right away after a quick chat when we first met. As we discussed and worked on our shared Pinterest board, we came up with some lovely ideas in brass with shiny clear crystal and pearl accents.

She chose a group of unique earrings for the bridal party as well as a custom necklace to go with her MoonRox earrings.

I added some little charms to the necklace with the initials of the bride and groom. 

The most fun was had making the series of light ethereal series of hair pieces. They are delicate and can be molded gently to sit perfectly. All of the pieces for the six women incorporated the same materials to tie everything and everyone together.

I was so very honoured to make some pieces for this special day!

Sometimes I get caught up in making big statement pieces. This was an extra little personal challenge to make these more soft and delicate jewellery designs! I brought these to the One of a Kind Show a couple weeks ago, and I love the response they got! Glad to hear that some of you like them as much as I do! The Flight of Fancy Necklace, Lariat and Earrings are made with dainty brass chain adorned with brass rods and charms. The same charms are used in the selection of earrings that go with! Voyage and Wanderlust Earrings

I'm a little obsessed with these beauties! I just want one of each! These are the Voyage and Wanderlust Stud Earrings. They are made with geometric brass forms and vintage glass cat's eye paillettes. Choose from four lovely pastel colours. 

I'm also kind of digging the one-of-each-style look as shown in this pretty Look Book image! Why not wear one of each style? The smooth surfaces of both of these earring styles catch the light and dance on your ears as you move. These are perfect for when you need a little holiday from the day-to-day!

Dot-to-Dot Pearl Series

I always thought of pearls as kind of old fashioned, but these days you can find freshwater pearls in so many interesting shapes. Got my hands on these lustrous flat disc like pearls and challenged myself to create pieces that were modern, dainty and still classy and lady like. As soon as I made the Dot-to-Dot Pearl Bracelet, I knew I had an instant personal favourite. I have been wearing my bracelet and Dotted Pearl Bauble Ring almost every day. The Dotted Pearl Earrings are pendulum style dangly earrings that pair well with any of the other pieces. For the Dot-to-Dot Pearl Necklace, I played with the linear quality of the fine chain between pearls and decided on a cool Y-style necklace.  The pearls have a beautiful sheen and each has a unique organic shape with some natural divots and character. I know I have shared this image before, but it's one of my all-time favourites. It was one of the first images shot by Joseph Saraceno when we first worked together on photographing the MoonRox lookbooks. Joe has a way of arranging pieces in a way I had not necessarily thought of, but always appreciate and wish I had thought of! This array of earrings look so amazing. I really must blow this up and hang it on the wall!

It's a beautiful day here in Toronto! Had a lovely brunch with some creative ladies. Love chatting with other like-minded women who are each working on very different businesses.  So nice to her what each is achieving.

Earrings galore

For our lookbook this season, we shot our sunny yellow images as well as some glorious and regal blue images! Here is a look at of some of the new MoonRox earrings for Spring/Summer 2016.

I chose this shade of blue inspired by the palette of Matisse while dreaming of charmed Grecian holidays, filled with sparkling mediterranean waters, relaxing warm Summer evenings, the scent of blossoms wafting through the air. If only I could make this vision come true!

A day in the city

Today I spent a lovely afternoon with a friend. We lunched, we chatted over coffee, then chatted over tea, popped into Sylvie and Shimmy and checked out some jewels on display, and went to see some art.

Last week I randomly went to an opening at Open Studio and was happily surprised to find that two of my art school profs were part of the show. After a quick catch up on what I am up to now, my former drawing professor lightheartedly reprimanded me for not seeing more art more often with so much at my fingertips. He was right! Feeling slightly less guilt after roaming the AGO and catching the Turner exhibit today. 

Nice to feel inspired by art. Now I must remember to make more art!

Aspect Series

Made with vintage plastic links, brass details with a touch a wood too! Found a a small amount of these great plastic links so these pieces will be limited in numbers. The pieces are bold but sit comfortably and make enough of a statement to compete with our scarves and layers we have piled on at this time of year!

Corsage Project Boutique Ball 2015

So happy to be able to donate some jewellery to The Corsage Project this year!  They help girls in the greater Toronto area who are having difficulty affording the expenses associated with attending their prom.  Prom is a rite of passage that every willing teen should get to enjoy!

Every year the Corsage Project has a team of stylists to help the girls "shop" the free formal wear that has been donated!  So pleased to add some MoonRox to that selection.  We donated these pretty floral earrings and much more!
