Sherrill and Filip's Wedding

Sherrill's custom MoonRox jewellery and hair piece
With June upon us, we are in the height of wedding season!

I've had the pleasure of working with some pretty stellar people lately!

Congrats to lovely newlyweds Sherrill and Filip on gettin' hitched! Sherrill had me when she mentioned Solange in discussing the jewellery and accessories for her destination wedding. I got a sense of her style right away after a quick chat when we first met. As we discussed and worked on our shared Pinterest board, we came up with some lovely ideas in brass with shiny clear crystal and pearl accents.

She chose a group of unique earrings for the bridal party as well as a custom necklace to go with her MoonRox earrings.

I added some little charms to the necklace with the initials of the bride and groom.

The most fun was had making the series of light ethereal series of hair pieces. They are delicate and can be molded gently to sit perfectly. All of the pieces for the six women incorporated the same materials to tie everything and everyone together.

I was so very honoured to make some pieces for this special day!
Wishing the bride and groom a lifetime of love and happiness!

ReBash: A Different Kind of Wedding Show

ReBash had its first edition this past weekend.  We had met co-organizer Jess years and years ago at the One of a Kind Show when she and her former biz partner had a super successful apron business.  We were all in early years of business at the time.  Through social media we had connected again in recent years which has been fun!
ReBash is her new venture with with her friend Joelle.  They put together a really lovely wedding show!  I was happy to be able to donate a blooming statement necklace to their Super Awesome Raffle and was kindly invited to the show with a guest.  We were not exactly in the market for all things wedding and it was my first experience at any kind of wedding show.  Still we enjoyed looking at all the beautiful wedding themed wares and even left with some cute things.  We both thought the show was set in a beautiful space and featured an excellent selection of high quality vendors.  Lots of event creation companies, yummy treats, flowers, and soaps too!  Saw some familiar faces!  Only managed a few photos, but the photo above was taken at the Hoopla booth and the last photo at the August In Bloom booth.
Congrats to the team at ReBash for a successful event!  Keep an eye on them for details on the next Show!

Made You Look

Made You Look is filled with so many amazing jewels!  They carry the work of numerous designers with a mostly Toronto area roster including MoonRox!  Here are some photos from our last couple visits!

Parkdale has come a long way since Made You Look first opened a decade ago.  They were one of the first shops on a strip that is now filled with so many retail wonders!

Recently, the shop has added a little upgrade!  They set up a room for brides and the special people in her wedding party.  The room is filled with shiny goodness to make the whole bridal accessories experience more personal and fun.  They can also do some alterations to special pieces that you have inherited or help you work on custom ideas!

MoonRox maids

This lovely family has been coming by my booth at the One of a Kind Show for years.  Yesterday the Bride, her Mom and sister E. came by and brought me a copy of this image.  So sweet and thoughtful!  One of the best things about doing the One of a Kind year after year is getting to know people a little bit and hearing about their stories.  Last year the bride's two sisters wore the Bubbly Stud Earrings and I think they looked smashing in their pink with the stunning bride!  Congrats to the S. family!  Wishing the new Mr. and Mrs. endless wedded bliss!

Ottawa whirlwind

On the Labour Day weekend, I rolled into our nation's capital for a couple packed days.  Mr. and Mrs. B. scooped me up for a tasty meat-filled dinner and we caught up on the latest gossip.
Then we strolled up to Parliament Hill and viewed the projected show Mosaika.
Not sure if it was our angle, but it was difficult to hear the words of the audio, so we mostly just enjoyed the images.
Visited the Centennial Flame before calling it and heading back to their house.

The next morning, Mrs. B and I dined in Byward Market...
before dropping in at Workshop Studio and Boutique for a quick delivery and visit.
Lots of new MoonRox jewels are now in at Workshop as well as sister store Flock!

In the afternoon, I met up with my family and attended the wedding of a good old family friend.  H. married his long time love and high school sweetheart.
I sported the Moonshadow Bracelet in Jade Green stacked with a Delicate Bracelet and a Crystallized Bracelet in Mint Green.  Thought it was a fun combo with this bright chartreuse dress and sparkly teal nails.  Mrs. B and I stayed up late the night before to glam up our digits. (And yes, I took this picture in the church... I tend to tune out when anything religious comes up.  I got the important parts!  It was a loving ceremony and bride and groom and whole wedding party looked great.)
Here's me and my Mom post-ceremony.  She looked super cute so had to share this!
The reception was at the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum and was charming as can be.  Surrounded by quaint buildings and the country night air, the party was fun, private and intimate.
Congrats to the happy couple!

And there went the weekend!  The following morning, we departed for a quick day back home in Toronto.  Next up was New York City!

Bridal earrings

I was honoured to make the earrings that CN wore on her special day.  We chose to make the Tassel Earrings in sterling silver with sparkling clear and silver Swarovski Crystals.  I think they accented her wedding day ensemble perfectly.

A tall ship wedding

Last weekend, we set up the trade show booth in record time, and rushed off so as not to miss the boat!  I was happy to celebrate the marriage of CN to her new hubby G aboard the ship where they worked and met.  It was a stormy and unseasonably cool day, especially in the middle of the continuous heat wave we have had this Summer. Didn't think it was my place to share their personal day here on this blog, but I took lots of photos of the scene as it was definitely novel to be on the water in Toronto... on a tall ship.  The grey clouds, historic ship and city skyline made a beautiful back drop for a wedding, even if it did rain a bit.  J and I had a little bit of a battle with an umbrella. But, as they say, rain on your wedding day is good luck, and a double rainbow as we returned to land must certainly be a bonus good omen.

Congrats to CN and G!
