At work

K. needed help with the paint colours at her house and asked for my assistance. It's currently an orange called "Invigorate" and proved to be too invigorating. Here I am trying to solve the problem with her over lunch.
And then on another day, she took this one of me glancing at the computer in my work space.

Ok... back to work!
Thanks to K. for the iPhone photos!

Cork bike helmets

I came across this cork helmet by Kévin Goupil and wondered if there were more out there in the world that are made using cork...
Then I found this concept helmet for Lacoste. Makes me want to adopt helmet usage. I know I should, especially being semi-accident prone!

Nadège Patisserie

I snapped these photos the other day at Nadège by Trinity Bellwoods Park. The place is like a pristine and beautiful gallery for pastries and delights. Things look too pretty to eat! The macarons almost seem to match the MoonRox logo! I picked up some fancy handmade marshmallows for both sides of the C. Sisters family, and I think they were very well received. The Pur Noir dessert sampled above was divine. Now, what shall I have on my next visit?

Weekend in Collingwood

Drove up to the C.'s place in Collingwood on Friday. We got up early on Saturday and helped with a huge yard sale, which was quite the success despite big grey clouds in the sky.
It was refreshing to get out of downtown and to see some green and open space.
We ate lots of good meals (as always at the C. residence) and lots of fresh Ontario produce.
Poked around the Elvis Festival, even while being totally exhausted. Only saw a couple Elvae as A. calls the multiple Kings of Rock and Roll.
Here I am with Elvis himself, right before we rolled out of town. Had a nice time! Thanks to the C. Sisters, N. and especially Mrs. C. for the lovely visit!

New Hair Pin Sets

Here are a couple new Hair Pin Sets made using vintage 1960's findings! I have been getting ready for Fall/Winter 2010 with the Mode Show around the corner, so some new H.P.'s were in order!

Hope you all enjoy a nice weekend. It's steamy around these parts... I am happy to be heading up north now!

Veg

Spotted this vegetable at the grocery store the other day. I was fascinated by the colour and the wild texture, so I snapped a photo. Unfortunately I cannot seem to remember the name of these!

Leaf tie

These leaf-shaped zip ties are awfully cute! I often find myself strapping things together with the humble zip tie. These ones are much more fun! For more info and colours from design company Lufdesign, click here.

MoonRox is now being carried at Ciutadella Gallery in the lovely town of Niagara-on-the-Lake!

Peony

Peonies are such amazing flowers. To me, they almost look like paint dancing in moving water. Last week when I was feeling extra horrible, J. Lo (not that one) brought me a lovely bunch.

Roots Mini Soft Saddle hand bag

I have been fancying this Mini Soft Saddle Handbag from Roots. I love the vegetable tanned leather and the preppy simplicity of it. Or perhaps it makes me nostalgic for my very first leather handbag that I must have acquired over 25 years ago.
(images above from Roots.com)
It's a slightly smaller Roots bag from back in the day. I tend to hang on to too many things, but I am glad I hung on to this one! Off to root around for other treasures I have kept!

Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition

Yesterday, I was almost shocked to wake up feeling markedly better after getting sicker and sicker for almost two weeks. I had my first real normal day of being out and about. I went to check out the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition at Nathan Phillips Square. Here are some samplings from a few of the artists whose work caught my eye for one reason or another. I must have missed a section because I missed a few artists that I knew were there. Perhaps I will have to venture back today. Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend! Off to see Grandma...

Pride

I am unbelievably still not feeling 100%. Every day seems different but not yet better. I am getting frustrated. I snuck out for a few moments here and there over the past few days. Went to support close friends for Pride as always. Took it easy and skipped the hub-bub this year and had lunch in the shade of the tree lined sidewalk.

Happy Canada Day!

Wishing everyone a Happy Canada Day!

Not sure if I'll get up to much. I have been under the weather all week. I might just stay in and continue the cleaning and organizing frenzy that I am halfway through. Hope you enjoy the day!
