ReBash: A Different Kind of Wedding Show

ReBash had its first edition this past weekend.  We had met co-organizer Jess years and years ago at the One of a Kind Show when she and her former biz partner had a super successful apron business.  We were all in early years of business at the time.  Through social media we had connected again in recent years which has been fun!
ReBash is her new venture with with her friend Joelle.  They put together a really lovely wedding show!  I was happy to be able to donate a blooming statement necklace to their Super Awesome Raffle and was kindly invited to the show with a guest.  We were not exactly in the market for all things wedding and it was my first experience at any kind of wedding show.  Still we enjoyed looking at all the beautiful wedding themed wares and even left with some cute things.  We both thought the show was set in a beautiful space and featured an excellent selection of high quality vendors.  Lots of event creation companies, yummy treats, flowers, and soaps too!  Saw some familiar faces!  Only managed a few photos, but the photo above was taken at the Hoopla booth and the last photo at the August In Bloom booth.
Congrats to the team at ReBash for a successful event!  Keep an eye on them for details on the next Show!

Corsage Project Boutique Ball 2015

So happy to be able to donate some jewellery to The Corsage Project this year!  They help girls in the greater Toronto area who are having difficulty affording the expenses associated with attending their prom.  Prom is a rite of passage that every willing teen should get to enjoy!

Every year the Corsage Project has a team of stylists to help the girls "shop" the free formal wear that has been donated!  So pleased to add some MoonRox to that selection.  We donated these pretty floral earrings and much more!

Wishing the girls a glamorous and fun day at the ball!

Joint Bangle and Column Bracelet

When I found these most amazing frosted vintage beads in New York, I didn't know what I would do with them, but was excited about them and brought them back with me.  They are a clear acrylic with a frosted finish and gold lined centres that make them glow from the inside.  I have spent some time in the past couple years dealing with some back and neck pain, which is thankfully now much improved, so when these pieces came together I thought the spine influenced names were perfect.

On the left is the Joint Bangle featuring the frosted beads and a shiny Swarovski crystal that slide freely on a brass bangle.

On the right is the Column Bracelet that showcases numerous frosted beads aligned along a heavy brass chain.  This bracelet is adjustable to any size.

Check them out in the online shop!

It's Friday afternoon and I am counting down to the weekend!  It's supposed to be warm and sunny here in Toronto and I for one can't wait!

Have a great one!

Badlands + Nature Walk

Good Friday is a day where I am often working at the One of a Kind Show or with family.  This time around I got to take a day trip with a friend.  We drove out to the Badlands and toured around in the sunshine for a bit.  Hard to believe these amazing mounds of clay heavy land are the results of poor farming practices.  Sad when you think of it that way, but are they ever stunning.
After the Badlands, we went on to visit the Forks of the Credit Provincial Park for a nice long hike/walk.  I don't get out of the big city enough.  Letting out a huge sigh of relief and feeling the calm just looking at photos from that day.  I remember when I lived in New York, I forgot about the sky until I was in a cab to the airport to leave.  You can get so caught up in city life, especially with tall buildings popping up at an alarmingly rapid rate here in Toronto, that you can forget to exhale.  Loved getting away even for a day and seeing the horizon and some nature, even if it's wilted post-Winter nature!  It was warm enough to shed the coats and layers we brought, but there were still remnants of ice and it was super muddy.  Kinda loved tromping around through it as the clouds rolled in.  I'm sure this is a lovely spot for an outing in the Summer.

After working up a good appetite (more like reaching starvation point) we headed to Orangeville for some yummy Jamaican at Soulyve.  Refuelled on tasty jerk chicken and ribs before returning to the city with full bellies and coffees for the road!  Note to self:  Must remember to make more escapes out of the downtown core.
