I've been enjoying Pinterest. The world seems particularity idyllic and beautiful through a pinner's eyes. Though it is late in the evening on Earth Day, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to post a few pictures that I have pinned of some stunning corners of this amazing giant rotating sphere that we are privileged to inhabit. Can't decide which place I'd want to see the most in real life. Guess we all have to continue to make the effort to preserve our Earth so generations ahead can have a chance to see such gorgeous scenes too.
Earlier this week I took what is turning into my annual visit to check out the cherry blossoms in High Park. I know I have taken and posted plenty of pics before, but I cannot seem to help myself! It was crazy windy the day day I chose to go. In fact there was a wind warning issued that day by the weather people that know. It was tough to keep your eyes open in the gale force winds, so I didn't get to sit on the lawns, zone out a bit and sketch new designs as I had planned.
I may have mentioned this before... I didn't read my old posts, but we had two big bushy beautiful trees on our front lawn in the first house I lived in as a kid. The smell of the blossoms and the flutter of the falling petals brings me right back to being 5 years old.
You can now pick up some MoonRox faves at Living Rooms! So excited to have our wares at another spot in Newfoundland! They are located at Churchill Square.
Pictured from the top are the Tiny Horseshoe Necklace, Bright Lights Earrings, Candied Hair Pins, Candied Stud Earrings, Dual Stud Earrings, Coral Rose Stud Earrings, Floating Crystal Bauble Necklace and the Entwined Wrap Bracelet.
Recently I got to make this pretty brooch for a lovely lady I met at the One of a Kind Show. We had communicated via Twitter, but it's always nice to meet someone in real life. I had fun making this bright turquoise-y blue Constellation Brooch. It's part of the series of MoonRox Classics ... one of the designs that I will always keep in the repertoire.
It's Friday the 13th! I have been bordering on manic this week! I've had to remind myself of what day it is more than once this week. Such a frenzied week. The Easter weekend feels like it was about a month ago. Did so much running around and made a fair number of baubles in recent days! Many were wrapped up in cute little MoonRox boxes! Finished off a long check-list of custom orders and made a special necklace for my Sister. Seems I have worked late into the night far too many times over the past few months. I admit that I do not specialize in time management... so it is partly my own doing! In the weeks ahead I'm hoping for some downtime to work on things that get neglected. A top priority is the website. Also, I feel the itch to take a vacation!
Yesterday I dropped off a pretty darned big selection of jewels to The Corsage Project. Such a great cause. The Corsage Project helps economically disadvantaged high school students attend their prom by providing free formal-wear. I remember how excited we got for our formals at our school. These events are a huge part of the growing up process and I'm happy to provide a little something to help someone enjoy a memorable day. Visit their website if you'd like to lend a hand in some way too!
I can't wait for the weekend...
May your weekend be smashing!
PS. I managed to get this orchid to bloom! So pretty...
Oh! I have been meaning to say a belated thank you to those of you that came out to the One of a Kind Show last week! Thank you all for making it such a success! After doing the show for so many years, we have developed a great and loyal following. It's always loads of fun to catch up with customers that are so kind to visit every show.
Thank you to all the blogs that showed us some MoonRox love! Links to all of the lovely posts have been added to the Facebook Page. Take a peek! I was happy to discover some new blogs to read!
Also a special thank you to my friends and family who gave up their time to come and help me out! I absolutely could not do it without your support.
Hello! Things have been crazy busy around these parts. I have a few more unanswered e-mails than I'd like, but plan on getting on top of that over the easter weekend. I am playing major catch up on custom orders and keeping up with the retailers. Too many nights up working late for this gal! I am running on a seriously low amount of sleep. Partly it is my fault for wanting to catch up with friends that I have not had the chance to see over this busy spell and partly 'cause in my family, we are gearing up to my sister's wedding! I am still lacking an outfit so I've been trying to poke around some shops too. So, I'm sorry for the light blogging, but I wanted to post a quickie and say hello!
