Countdown to INLAND!

With INLAND coming up in a few days, we are getting verrrry excited! Always love meeting customers in person and chatting with fellow designers.  Just had a lil peruse of this lookbook and now hoping to make it out of there without spending all our cash! Let's to to the Ex!

I can hardly believe it is the Labour Day Weekend and our Summer has come to an unofficial end.  As we only a had couple warm days this Summer, it just doesn't seem right!  The biggest sign of the end of Summer for many Torontonians is the Canadian National Exhibition.  We have a love/hate with the Ex!  It's so hard to say goodbye to long Summer days!  Managed two visits to the Ex this year and soaked up all the fabulously gaudy lights and delicacies.  And as always, visited the alpacas!

Now we are looking forward to a really exciting and busy week!  This week we'll be releasing some of the Fall/Winter MoonRox Collection as well as doing a fab new show, INLAND on the weekend, September 6 & 7.

Inland at 99 Sudbury, Toronto

We'll be taking part in a new show here in Toronto. Inland is a curated shopping event for men and women. They have gathered an amazing roster of Canadian clothing and accessories designers, so this will be an event not to miss! Mark your calendars for September 6th and 7th at 99 Sudbury. Fun in the sun!

At the end of June, my friend SF and I jaunted down to Varadero, Cuba for a long overdue getaway.  We had been talking of a warm weather trip since October... Then we endured the most grueling Winter ever in Toronto and finally escaped as the weather turned nicer at home.  Still, it was so great to have a vacation and relax and unplug.  Unplugging was forced due to no wifi access cards for sale, but we didn't mind.  I loved not being able to check in on e-mails, social media, random apps on the phone.  Really lets your mind and body fall into relaxation mode.  

We stayed at the Iberostar Laguna Azul, which was ohhhkaaay.  Don't think either of us will be going back, but we had fun as we had great weather, good company and new friends.  Every day, we spent some time at the beach and at the pool.  Spent a lot of time in the water as it was super hot out with temps feeling like 49C at times.  Took one morning to go into town and poke around the markets, but came back empty handed.

The beach was lovely.  The water was great... very calm and clear, but we had both been spoiled by nicer beaches elsewhere, so it didn't quite live up to our expectations.  I am not at all complaining though!  I love the aqua blue ocean water and simply bobbing around for hours staring at the horizon!

Evenings after our as expected mediocre dinners, we would sit near the theatre and enjoy some drinks and chat with other resort patrons and watch the cast of characters pass by.  It was fun to meet people from different parts of the world and learn a bit about them even for a few days.  

A week of fun in the sun flew by so quickly.  Then it was back to Toronto and back to work!  I'm already itching for another vacation...

Currently, we are gearing up to launch the Fall/Winter Collection next month!  Getting excited to debut new things!  Hope you will like the new jewels!

Made You Look

Made You Look is filled with so many amazing jewels!  They carry the work of numerous designers with a mostly Toronto area roster including MoonRox!  Here are some photos from our last couple visits!

Parkdale has come a long way since Made You Look first opened a decade ago.  They were one of the first shops on a strip that is now filled with so many retail wonders!  

Recently, the shop has added a little upgrade!  They set up a room for brides and the special people in her wedding party.  The room is filled with shiny goodness to make the whole bridal accessories experience more personal and fun.  They can also do some alterations to special pieces that you have inherited or help you work on custom ideas!
