This Winter

Here are a selection of photos from the beginning of 2014 so far.  It has been bitterly cold, but the snow has been pretty and many warm beverages and sweet treats have been consumed to help make it a bit easier! We spent New Year's and the Family Day weekend in Collingwood and have otherwise been keeping busy here in Toronto.  Had a couple great photo shoots!  Excited to show you new pieces and tell you about upcoming projects.  The website will be getting a big product update next week!  In the meantime, there are a few current pieces and a couple little sneak peeks of Spring/Summer 2014 mixed in this series of photos.  Hope you have a cozy and warm weekend.  Farewell February!

Finding a Fall shoe

... or boot is always on my list!  I need something I can walk around endlessly in that is not a runner.  Not that I wear runners!?  Would be great if I could bike in them too, but I suppose I can always add a rubber sole!

 J. Shoes Sidesaddle in Stone Grey

These are super cute and would go with anything, but may not be comfortable enough for tons of walking.  Might still buy 'em!  Love the metal combined with the tassel on the laces.

Rachel Comey Mars Heel Short Boot

These would be so easy to slip on and go!  I even love the navy though they look almost black to me.  I think I am getting over my navy blue phobia.  It has only taken 16.5 years.   

Emu Merrijg Hi 

These look so odd but I somehow like them.  I'd switch out the laces for something less "running shoe" and wear them with dresses.  I know -- bit weird, but they look like pillows for your feet!

 No. 6 Five Inch Shearling Boot

Think I may have blogged a similar pair before.  Shearling plus clog sounds ideal to me!

A Détacher

Some lovelies from Toronto shoe haven Chasse Gardée.  These with a pair of socks qualify as walking shoes, no?

A. and I tried these on the other day.  The leather is so buttery!  And they are comfortable!

Dolce Vita Daphne Wedge Heel Boot

These look much like the Lanvin boots my sis and I coveted last year, and as much as you don't want to support a knock off, these are much more affordable.  

Jil Sander Piped Oxford

This pair is for you, Miss S.  These are some good-looking nude oxfords!  And they are on sale!

Swedish Hasbeens Spring/Summer 2011

Not sure why, but I am such a sucker for Swedish Hasbeens. Digging the new styles and new colours, especially Strappy, shown in the first pic. Maybe I'll have to try to score a pair from their upcoming collaboration with H&M.

Lovely boots!

Hope everyone had a nice long weekend. I was working for a good chunk of it, but squeezed in some fun. I can't believe it is August already! Fall is already here in the retail world. Time to start thinking about covered toes again. I like these Penpal boots by Rachel Comey -- they are perfectly simple, or is it simply perfect?

Roots boots

Spotted these Roots Russian Vamp Tall Boots over the past few days of pre and post Christmas extreme shopping. They are incredibly comfortable and made in Canada! I love the reddish chestnut colour they have, but was not able to find a photo online. But, I thought S. might like these black ones so here they are. When I was in university, I worked at Roots for several years, and prior to that had so many Roots shoes in my youth, so I had a wave of nostalgia. I am glad to see they have brought back shoes, which is what the company was founded on. Going to save up my pennies... not that I need another pair of boots!
