I've enjoyed roaming around town over the past few days. Here are some random pics from the past few days! A miscellaneous lighted tree on Bloor,
the view from my seat out front of Ideal Coffee in Kensington,
the amazing evening view from W.+W.'s new place.

I just realized today that I missed the first anniversary of this blog! It was on April 10th. In honour of the anniversary I am planning on putting together my first MoonRox giveaway. Stay tuned!

Hello in print

Hello! I like this print by Jennifer Ramos of Made By Girl. Buy it in her shop and read her blog.

I think this would look nice in my door way...

Sewing

I spent the past couple days at my fashion designer friends' studio sewing a side project for one of my clients. Now all I feel like doing is sewing! Last night I even dreamed of serging. So this morning, I was happy to peruse Make Something, the blog of Karyn, the owner of the Workroom in Parkdale, right next to Made You Look. In today's post, she shared some handmade ideas from the previous year's holiday season. Here she sewed her gifts into paper packages. I like to sew paper and fabric onto greeting cards and tags, but never thought of sealing the gift with stitches! So cute!

There are lots of other nice projects, check 'em out!

Fractured metatarsals

I just found a blog that documents the healing process of metatarsal fractures. Most of the stuff that I have found online addresses ankles, so I was so happy to come across this. Sounds like I got off easy with only fracturing one metatarsal (the 4th) and not having to have any surgery. At least that is the status as of now. The poor author fractured his 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th metatarsals. I go to the Fracture Clinic at Mount Sinai tomorrow, so I hope things have progressed in the healing department! I didn't get much instruction as far as care when I was at emerg, so I'll have to ask lots of questions and hope I have been doing things correctly so far. I must say, it is hard to sleep with the Aircast on so some nights I have strapped a hard sandal to my foot with a Tensor as well as gone without... gave the toes some freedom! My biggest hope is that I will be able to be on my feet for the One of a Kind Show. I have six weeks to produce a lot of work and to heal up! Now I must stop reading that blog and go to bed so I can get up at the crack to get to the hospital!

Miscellany of the moment

  • Enter the Dagg and Stacey Snapshot contest. I did! You could win a piece from their Spring/Summer 2009 collection. This is not the photo I sent in, but I just came across it. I am wearing a mini-trench by Dagg and Stacey. University Ave. was closed for the Tamil protests in mid-May earlier this year, allowing for sauntering in the streets.
  • Interesting CNNmoney.com article on Etsy that A. sent along. Click here to read it.
  • I feel like doing some simple block printing after perusing the Urban Outfitters DIY shop. Perhaps this would be a good idea for some new packaging for MoonRox. I would ideally like to phase out the plastic bag use, even if they are bio-degradable.
  • UO also has some nice jewellery display/storage options including this lovely!
  • I was reading the charming blog of Fifi Lapin. The fashion illustrations are just too much!
  • I want to pick up this book! It's a Japanese publication called Stylish Dress Book. There is still some Summer left to wear some comfy dresses, I hope!
  • I am trying to figure out Technorati! I've claimed this blog... now what?
  • I'm listening to CBC Radio 3 while I toil away at my desk...
Ok... no more procrastinating! That's what's on my brain at this very moment. Back to work on the jewellery in progress that is calling for me right now. Happy Monday.

Sizzle, sputter, sputter...

My brain is fried.  Is is me, or is Google Analytics a wee bit confusing to set up?  It's such a great tool, so I hope I get it sorted.   I just tried to set it up for my website, this blog and my Etsy shop.... not sure if I did any of it correctly.  We'll see in 24 hours.  Can't wait to see all the stats!

If anyone has any tips for the non-techno-advanced folk like me, please pass them along!
