Come to the Mode Show!
The booth's all set up and I am ready to be bombarded by buyers in my wee booth! Well, let's hope to be bombarded... Despite the small size of the booth, it took me many more hours than anticipated and I am just settling in to make 7 more samples (see bare heads and empty spaces). A couple finishing touches and the MoonRox booth will be complete. For details and hours for the Mode Show, see the post below.

Mode Show Spring/Summer 2010
The Mode Show is fast approaching!
The Show starts on Sunday, January 31 and runs until Tuesday, February 2nd. It's wholesale only, so send all the nice retailers to visit us at the Mode. It's right across the street from the CGTA, so it's trade show central. MoonRox/Mehoi will be in booth 2208a! I'm looking forward to seeing some of the buyers and catching up, as well as meeting some new ones!
With time running out, I have been furiously finishing up my samples. Tomorrow, I will finalize the last-minute things and we should be good to go for set-up day on Saturday!

Swedish Hasbeens Spring 2010
Swedish Hasbeens has released their new styles and colours of '70's inspired clogs for Spring 2010! There are so many looks to choose from in the Great Things Never Die collection. Above is the Peep Toe Super High in Nature. I have the Cognac ones and love them, but I enjoy the aging process that natural leather goes through and fancy a pair in the Nature colour. I like 'em all, so I've included many in this post! Here you go!
Boots in many colours
This Cognac colour is the fave.
(The company envisions these pastel shades paired with a vintage bikini. I might not do it, but I could see it working!)
They also have some really nice bags that look sturdy and well made. Here is the Small Shouder Bag.
Alrighty! Back to work for a second before dins.

Sunny afternoon at the Bellevue
Friday was a nice sunny day so I decided to take a break and meet up with A. for a walk through Kensington. We noticed a new place at the corner of Bellevue and Nassau. We were walking up to check it out when a man riding a skateboard asked if we had met before. It was Chris that I had sold jewellery to a couple years ago for his former store. He and two partners have just opened up this cute café called the Bellevue!
They serve nice coffees and teas as well as a good but concise menu. I enjoyed a deeelish Colombian tomato and chick pea soup that I am still savouring. We sat at the bar stools in the window, sipped our teas and enjoyed a nice chat in the warm sun. The joint will soon be licensed and will eventually have another room of dining tables and a breakfast bar and a nice corner patio so I'm looking forward to spending some good days there!

Warm weather wanted
I enjoy this dress. It's from fleur wood from Spring of last year, but it makes think of lounging around on breezy warm Summer days in the sunshine. I especially like how the pin tucks radiate from the neckline. I'd better go take some vitamin D!

Ethereal Earrings
Over the past couple weeks, I have made over a hundred pairs of sample earrings in preparation for the Mode Show! My fingers are sore, but I am happy with the results.
One of my favourite pairs of earrings to wear of late has been the Ethereal Earrings. They are just lovely! They are lightweight with a bit of colour and some sparkle! They are just listed in the MoonRox Etsy Shop. Go HERE!

I like iPhone covers by Uncommon
These iPhone 3G and 3Gs covers by uncommon are too cool. I don't even have an iPhone, but this site makes me want one even more! I am going to be good and wait until my contract on my (not so great) Razr runs out in August. Then I will get one of these fab cases! You can upload your own artwork or image or use one of their existing designs.
Laser Beam by Magda Sayed. It's like a knit cozy for your phone! Too cute! You can manipulate the scale and angle of the design. I played with it for a minute and like this arrangement best.

Above: Haiti Fractured Mosaic by Scott Wilson -- 100% of profits from this case goes to the Red Cross. Currently, they have several designs to raise funds for Haiti.
As you can see, I favour multi-coloured things!

Happy Tape!
From a post about a very serious situation to a post about total frivolity...
I got a nice package in the mail on Friday from Happy Tape! A cheery lime green dispenser for my Japanese masking tape. This tape is too pretty to not be on display and admired. The seller was really kind and included a couple bonus items to my order after a shipping mix-up. Check out the Happy Tape shopping site HERE and her blog HERE. I might need one of those new tape sets she has put together...

DONATE
The post-earthquake situation in Haiti is so heartbreaking. It's difficult to see the devastation from the comfort of our homes and not feel guilty and so helpless. The CBC has put together a site dedicated to Haiti relief complete with a list of help organizations to donate to. I'm going to donate now... Check out the site HERE.

Perusing
I was completely distracted by perusing random crafty blogs. I was checking out some of the pretty handmade projects on the Purl Bee blog just now. I've had an itch to hand sew things after the appliqué sweaters. Love this sunny tied quilt... and it's in all the right colours for me! Seeing as I stuck my foot through a duvet cover the other day and ripped a fitted sheet while putting it on my bed, I could justify a project such as this.
I'm also going to have to try this project for mittens with knitted cuffs. Looks like I could handle it!
Also, check out all the lovely fabrics they have in their extensive online shop!
I'm going to have to pop in the real brick and mortar shop next time I'm in New York!

Hanging with Honey Bear
I've been a wee bit under the weather with a scratchy cough, but thankfully not swine or anything. So, I've been hiding out in the warm sunny apartment working away on Spring/Summer 2010 and drinking lemon tea with my good friend Honey Bear. Things are coming together, but as always, one can never have enough time! Half the battle seems to be deciding on what to include and what to leave out. And, there seems to be jewellery bits and bobs everywhere. Part of the deal of working from a home studio... Back to work!
