Earth Day

I am trying to be remember to be kinder to our Earth every day. Here's a perfect Earth Day themed embroidered wall hanging by Dottie Angel.

More pretties

Around lunch hour today, I ventured over to High Park to see the cherry blossoms before they are hit by rain tomorrow. It was cloudy when I was there, but so peaceful and quiet in the park. The blossoms were beautiful, so I couldn't help myself and like last year, snapped a tonne of photos.

The smell was amazing!

Yay! It's Friday night! I'm tired (as you can see) and am supposed to be napping but am blogging. Let me see if I can catch a couple winks. Have a great weekend!

Loot!

I picked up some really great stuff at this Spring's One of a Kind Show. Above is my new beautiful hat made using the old-world traditional millinery techniques by Karyn Gingras of Lilliput Hats. They are predicting rain for the next few days, but I can't wait to wear it!

I got these awesome porcelain coffee cups from Hugo Didier who also makes a variety of smart ceramic products emblazoned with "Not made in China." I love how simple these are.

And of course I got more moccasins from Hides in Hand. These furry slippers may be my sixth pair (all different styles) from them and I also own an amazing trapper hat and super cozy mitts. (It's just a small addiction.) These slips will be great for next Winter. There is nothing wrong with planning ahead! I have their ballet style ones for warmer seasons.

I've been admiring my new things all day!

Day off!

I took Monday off to enjoy the nice weather that I had been missing over the weekend. It was so nice to feel the warmth of the sun and to see some signs of Spring!

Thanks to everyone who came to see us at the One of a Kind. Now that the Show is over, it feels like it didn't even happen. Seems like the past few days flew by! The weather was gorgeous and Summer-like. I only caught a few minutes in the mornings and had a hard enough time tearing myself away, so I am especially thankful for the people that gave up their time to help me, those who came to visit and say hello, and of course to those who came to shop!

Hope everyone enjoyed a lovely long Easter weekend!

tuliP+i

I also had a chance to see Natalie's booth. Natalie and I met through some common friends years ago, so I was happy to see her as a new artisan at the Show. Her company is called tuliP+i. Such a sweet name! She makes a charming collection of baby blankets, pillows, quilts and more! The colours are soft yet modern and many items feature cute Italian phrases. Those poufs are a favourite of mine!

Hoi Bo

Today I visited Sarra at Hoi Bo. As always, she had many beautiful things on display. I love my bag that C. got me in the Fall. I have sported it almost every day since I got it. I am coveting the grey one on the bottom right of the above photo!

Bookhou

I had a chance to have a wander through a couple aisles at the Show today. It's always nice to see some familiar faces, both of the shopping and exhibiting variety!

Here are some lovely wares from Bookhou. John Booth and Arounna Khounnoraj are a team featuring many varied skills! You'll find tea towels, tea pot cozies, letterpress cards, laser cut wooden alphabets, and the cutest animal stuffies!

Looks like the nice Spring weather is coming back this week after a rainy rinse. I hope it sticks around for good! I saw some tulip leaves peeking above ground today. That is a sure sign of Spring! I'm already enjoying the Spring forward hours. Love the longer days!

I like Marimekko

I spent the afternoon furniture shopping with my Sis and found lots of nice things, but we were well behaved and didn't bring anything home with us, unless you count some brussel sprouts!

So, this evening, I have been perusing a few sites in search of inspiration for a home refresh/re-organize. I love this image found on the Marimekko site. These floor cushions are too fun. I am also enjoying these dresses for Spring 2010, especially the simple yellow and white one. I have some vintage Marimekko fabric that I may have to fashion into a dress one of these days.
