Life last week

Last week seemed to be filled with a good mix of work and play... just the way I like it.  Here are some photos from my phone.
 Entwined Rope Bracelets...
Rainy eve...  maybe this wasn't last week...
 Orbit Rings...
 Nibbles...
 Pretty plant...
 Supply shopping...
Stunning Ring, lace top and lace nails too...
New glasses case to add to my Bennie and Olive collection...
Visited the Dagg and Stacey studio... got to try on some pretty clothes!  So much fun...
Checked out the latest at West Elm...
 Stopped in at Lilliput Hats...
and spent some time catching up...
Made lots of jewellery, of course!!
 Gazed at the full moon...
(terrible photo... sorry!)
Got a cheap and cheerful glitzy new case for my phone.  Who knew the dollar store would have such a gem?
Imbibed...
(These were not all for me.  Just making sure you know!)
 And ate a waffle pop!

Some things I didn't photograph:
Ate delicious meat pies, ate yummy tacos with high school mates, brunched with pals, celebrated Mrs. L-O's birthday over tasty pizzas, basked in the sun on a gorgeous and surprisingly warm Sunday, played with spray paint, caught up with family over cheap and cheerful eats.  Yes, I have basically been indulgent... touring around town eating non-stop.

In the week ahead I plan on hunkering down, though it will be hard with the warmer temps and my favourite guy around, Mr. Sunshine.

Off to catch some Zzzs.  Hope you had a lovely weekend!

From the trade show...

Here are some random photos taken last week at the Mode Show
A couple of Entwined Rope Bracelets...  Been wearing mine almost every day! Love it!
Fancy show nails with the new glitter polish from S.  Multi-coloured sparkles make me happy!
 Close-up of Entwined Chain Necklaces.
Fun with my new fave app, Cat Effects.  Oh how we howled...
Taking a breather... catching some rays and watching planes land outside the hotel where the Show is at.
Lots and lots of Hair Pin Sets, including some fun new additions this season!
Trying on pretty head gear from Lilliput Hats.
Some MoonRox and some House of Moda hang together on HoM designer Ozlem.

Now I'm keeping busy working on orders and getting in full-on Spring gear.  Today was 9 degrees and sunny.  Maybe Spring is closer than we think!

Hat weather

It's definitely unseasonably chilly today!  I layered up in a sweater, jacket and scarf too.  It sure seems odd that a few days ago we had an extreme heat alert.  Extreme indeed!  Soon it will be cool enough to break out my new hat from Lilliput Hats!  Here I am (on a much warmer day) in the shop at College and Bathurst with the milliner extraordinaire, Karyn Gingras.  Cant wait to wear this goody!  Thanks Karyn!

Weekend-ing

Had a fun weekend out and about enjoying the city. On Saturday we brunched in Kensington after our late night the day before... then headed to the Island for an afternoon micro-vaycay!
This is no pink coral Bermuda sand, but it was still nice to relax by the water in the warm sunshine!
Grabbed dinner at the charming Rectory Café, which has a small but nice menu. Our meals were all pleasantly tasty!
Our afternoon was too brief! As the sun began to set, we biked over to catch the ferry back to the city. We shall have to return again for another mini getaway!
Love my Lilliput Hat! I've got another one that is being sized to my large noggin! Have to pick it up this week, but it's more of a Fall hat, so I'll have to wait to wear it!
Had a brief rest, before heading out for the evening. The highlight was catching our friend's 11 or 12 piece band play atop the bars on both sides at La Palette. Wish I had better photos.
Sunday was spent brunching and visiting with family. My Grandmother did not seem herself yesterday and this morning she was admitted to the hospital. I am really hoping she will feel better soon! Broke my heart to see her looking so little and helpless today in her hospital bed.

A visit at Lilliput Hats

Recently, I popped into Lilliput Hats to get my hat stretched to better accommodate my enormous noggin. It's such a charming shop and studio where they still practice traditional old-world millinery techniques. Visit them at 462 College St.West between Bathurst and Markham, here in Toronto.

Busy weekend

On Saturday, my friend A. and I roamed around town on our bikes. I failed to take any photos of our adventures as my hands were too cold for most of the day! We went for brunch at the Easy then hit up the Roncesvalles area looking for garage sales but did better with store sales. Then we rolled over to the Clothing Show to visit with our friends who were exhibiting and to scope out more deals. Also caught a peek at a dance competition while at the Ex. On our way home, we escaped getting huge tickets for rolling through 3 stop signs on our bikes. Phew! $330 saved... each! I will never do it again!
Yesterday we gathered some friends (big and small) and lounged in the park with lots of tasty picnic treats. Seemed like everyone else in Toronto did the same. It was nice to see the sun again after so many cold rainy days. Here's a photo that B. took. I'm enjoying my Lilliput Hat! I've never had a proper hat and it's such a treat. Then I went to eat a huge prime rib at The Keg for my Sister's birthday! There went another weekend!

It was a lovely one! Hope yours was too!

Loot!

I picked up some really great stuff at this Spring's One of a Kind Show. Above is my new beautiful hat made using the old-world traditional millinery techniques by Karyn Gingras of Lilliput Hats. They are predicting rain for the next few days, but I can't wait to wear it!
I got these awesome porcelain coffee cups from Hugo Didier who also makes a variety of smart ceramic products emblazoned with "Not made in China." I love how simple these are.
And of course I got more moccasins from Hides in Hand. These furry slippers may be my sixth pair (all different styles) from them and I also own an amazing trapper hat and super cozy mitts. (It's just a small addiction.) These slips will be great for next Winter. There is nothing wrong with planning ahead! I have their ballet style ones for warmer seasons.

I've been admiring my new things all day!
